Dr Ann McLeod joined the Foundation team in the fall of 2024. She currently oversees the construction of our full service nonprofit veterinary hospital at 59th & Sycamore in Sioux Falls, while also assisting area shelters with spay/neuter surgeries. Dr McLeod attended Mississippi State University for both undergraduate and veterinary doctoral studies. She has diverse experience as a veterinarian, including emergency medicine, general practice, general surgery, shelter medicine, alternative medicine, pharmaceuticals, and pet preventative care. After graduating vet school Dr McLeod owned and operated a vet clinic on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and worked as chief of veterinary staff at practices in Florida, Illinois, and Missouri. She recently relocated to South Dakota with her husband Bill, an officer with the SD Air National Guard, and they live on an acreage in Parker with  four King Charles Spaniels, two of which were adopted from Dakota Dachshund Rescue, and a small tribe of goats that joined the family in August.
