To fill an animal services gap in the region, ARC built a 1,200 sq ft temperature-controlled building next to our equine facilities at 85th & Sycamore. This Distribution Center will be used to receive semi-trucks of donated pet food and supplies to distribute to community members through our work and partners including the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society, Almost Home Canine Rescue, Brookings Regional Humane Society, Heartland Humane Society in Yankton and others.

To focus on ARC's mission of providing access to care, Dr McLeod and Darci assisted the Heartland Humane Society in Yankton with a FREE vaccination and microchip event at the 4-H Building in Vermillion. There is no longer a veterinary clinic in the area so the need for wellness and preventative care is great. Over 240 animals received care through this event, a second vaccination clinic in Yankton and 2 community spay/neuter events at the Heartland Humane Society. 

ARC uses volunteers to provide temporary foster care (1-2 weeks) for animals being transported from Native Nations facilities to shelter and rescue partners in the region. ARC volunteers ensure animals are healthy and transitioning well prior to placement with a shelter or rescue group. This is Vinny, who is recovering from a Ringworm infection. In April, ARC donated 300 pet collars & leashes, cat carriers, ID tags, pet food and veterinary clinic supplies to Rosebud's vet clinic. Dr McLeod and Darci returned to Rosebud in July for a week to help with a RAVS pet wellness clinic in 3 different communities at Rosebud. The Foundation also provided animal care supplies at their October clinic. This clinic utilizes telemedicine services with veterinarians to provide care to pets in the community year-round.
